Contactless Card Payment System
Contactless payment systems, (also known as "touch and go") is a quick and convenient way for customers to pay for items totaling £10 and under. Pre-installed on a bank card, credit card, or other device using an RFID signal, contactless payment can be used wherever you see the wave symbol. The embedded chip and antenna allow users to simply touch or wave their card against the secure reader and the payment is made. Transactions are faster than conventional cash, credit, or debit card methods since no signature or pin number is required. The ease of small transactions is thought to encourage consumers to make small purchases using this method.
Octepos has Epos integrated contactless payment technology with its credit and debit card acquiring software to ensure that all customer payment requirements can be catered for. There are currently over 3,000 shops in and around London and another 3,000 nationwide that offer a contactless pay point. If the customers purchase adds up to over £10, they can just carry out the payment using Chip & PIN - a receipt can be provided if required. Transactions appear on the monthly card statement, just like any other card payments
